  • Saddened and heartbroken to hear the passing of my brother and friend. I will always remember the talks, the words of encouragement that we shared with one another. The jokes and the laughs, even when facing some adversity. You were truly a stand up guy, a solid brother, a great husband and father, and most of all a man of Faith. May God continue to keep and bless your family. Rest in peace my brother! Rev. Marcus D. Donald

  • Major was my brother and friend for over 20 years. We met as cadets at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama from 1997 to 1999. It was truly an honor and blessing to have known Major and call him my brother and best friend. Above all, Major was a diligent servant of God, a natural-born leader that absolutely cherished family. He constantly provided words of encouragement & motivation to those who needed it the most and made certain that the holy spirit spoke directly through him and that the word of God was the foundation of every message. I love and miss my brother & friend and will forever cherish his memory. On behalf of the Mitchell Family, we send prayers and express our sincerest condolences to the entire Holmes Family. We know that Major is in the Kingdom of God rejoicing, because he kept the faith and finished the race. Rest in paradise, my brother!

  • I met Major my Freshman year at University of South Alabama. His spirit entered the room before he did. He was always positive and funny just wanting everyone to have a good time. He truly was like a brother to me. He didn't meet a stranger he was a born leader. Who brought everyone together. I haven't spoken to him in awhile. But he always on my mind and forever in my heart. Rest well King!💜
