Obituary for Parker A. Boswell

We honor and celebrate the life of Parker Alexander Boswell. Parker was born on October 17, 2000, and raised in Hoover, Alabama. Parker grew up attending Saint Peter Primitive Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama, later joining Church of the Highlands. Words cannot capture all Parker is to his community. Parker had an infectious smile and touched the lives of many people throughout the community and beyond. Parker never met a stranger and intentionally sowed into each life he encountered.

As a member of Church of the Highlands, Riverchase Campus, Parker volunteered and served on numerous projects. Parker assisted in coaching a youth football team and not only helped them grow in skills, but in faith and as young men, as well. Parker frequently led his family’s weekly Bible Study and truly desired to pursue his Heavenly assignment. In his 19-year journey, Parker acquired an unwavering faith and became a pillar in the Hoover community and beyond.

Parker attended Spain Park High School (Class of 2019), played on the Varsity Boys Basketball team for five years, and served as Vice President of the Class of 2019. Parker was an inspiration on the basketball court, to his teammates, his classmates, his friends, and even strangers. In 2020, Parker served as a Summer Intern with the World Games 2022. Parker was a student at Southern Union on full Scholarship, and a member of the Men’s Basketball Team. We thank God for the beautiful and lasting memories he etched in our hearts and minds. He will always be loved, admired, remembered and missed.

On September 17, 2020, Parker joined his grandfather, Robert Roy Parker, and other loved ones in heaven. His spirit, joy, and unconditional love will continue through his parents, Kathy Parker Boswell and Alexander M. “Chip” Boswell Jr.; his sister, Kathryn Boswell; his grandparents, Mary Parker and Alexander M. and Eunice Boswell Sr.; his girlfriend, Lia Martinez; aunts and uncles; cousins; other family members; and countless friends.

Condolences

Like so many others, Parker touched my heart and my life. His spirit was God centered and that was what I felt strongly about him. Parker's smile and joy was infectious and I can't think about him without seeing both of those. I adopted in my heart like my own son. Words will never be enough but I'm certain I'll see him again. I pray that the joy Parker brought to his family helps carry them until joy comes some morning. I will miss Parker but I will continue to love him. The Boswell's are Family and remain in my prayers.
